Learn the right weeds and trees to help start a fire, get a drink, find a meal, make a rope, stop an itch or heal a wound. Explore with us the trails, fields and forests of Burke Lake Park and see what Mother Nature is growing just for you. Bring water, snack, rainwear, and wear suitable outdoor clothes and hiking boots/shoes. Rain or shine.

Join our naturalist and learn about the animals that call the lake home. Use scientific equipment such as dip nets, microscopes, minnow traps and game cameras just to name a few. Enjoy a tour boat ride while learning facts about each species and why they are so vital to the lakes health. See live animals up close and be ready to have some fun with hands on learning. Want to learn a new sport? Develop archery skills shooting Olympic-style (recurve) or compound bows. Learn patience, focus and attention to detail through focused instruction. Campfire Saturdays: Stargazing (3-Adult) Click to Register with Parktakes Online
(3-Adult) Enjoy a stroll along the lake shores and learn about the constellations, their stories and other night-sky features. Our astronomical naturalist identifies the stars for you and will have some telescopes on hand for you to use. The program concludes with a campfire. S'mores ingredients provided; hot dogs welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult registered in the program.
