PROGRAM: Washington is Burning Van Tour Add
DESCRIPTION: Includes van transportation. When the British Army burned the District of Columbia in 1814, Ellanor C. Lawrence Park's own Lewis Machen saved many documents from the Senate. Learn more about the War of 1812's repercussions and consequences in the capital city. Tour the elegant Octagon House where James Madison lived after the White House was burned, then drive out to Maryland to finish our day at the Battle of Bladensburg Visitor Center. Bring a bag lunch. Trip departs Ellanor C. Lawrence Park at 9am and returns at 5pm.
