TITLE: Birds of Prey
DESCRIPTION: Seeing a bird of prey in the wild is exhilarating. Raptor bander John Shafer guides you to hot spots in search of wintering and resident hawks and owls. The trip begins with a multimedia presentation to review the fine points of identifying and aging raptors drawn from his experiences banding hawks and eagles. Bring binoculars. Well stop for a meal or bring a bag lunch to eat on the go. Dress for the weather. Youth under age 16 must be accompanied by a registered adult. Tour departs at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park visitor center at 10 am and returns at 6 pm.

TITLE: Birds of Shenandoah National Park
DESCRIPTION: Includes van transportation. Travel to Shenandoah National Park for a guided trip. Our naturalist guide will point out migrating warblers and other birds such as veerys, tangers, ravens and turkeys. You may also spot bear, deer and other wildlife. Bring a bag lunch, water and binoculars. Dress for the weather. Trip includes a moderate hike. Van departs from Ellanor C. TITLE: Blackwater Wildlife Refuge
DESCRIPTION: Join naturalist Michael Gregory on a search for birds and other animals of the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge on the Delmarva Peninsula. The refuge is located on an important migration route for birds, different populations of waterfowl, hawks and eagles may be seen at different times of the year. Other animals may be spied as well, including the endangered fox squirrel. Bring binoculars and a bag lunch. Dress for the weather. Van departs from Packard Center, Annandale District Park at 7am and returns at 5pm. Inclement weather date Sunday, February 5, 2018.

DESCRIPTION: 03/25/18 By & By brings their 'impressive vocals, smooth-as-honey string playing and arms-wide-open stage energy' (DC Music Download) to bluegrass from Bill Monroe to Nickel Creek. Their original songs reflect on the band's surroundings, pulling from the fast-paced, dymanic and engaged culture of Washington DC. Their music has roots that dig through the traditions of bluegrass, folk, Americana and rock-n-roll to create a sound uniquely theirs. Their first album, Get It While You Can, received seven nominations for Washington Area Music Association awards. Doors open at 6pm and showtime is at 7pm. DESCRIPTION: 03/11/18 The Darrell Webb Band brings energy and excitement to the concert stage reaching beyond traditional boundaries. Their brand of entertainment has earned multiple nominations at the International Bluegrass Music Association Awards. After a successful career as a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist in bands such as Wildfire, Rhonda Vincent & the Rage and Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, Darrell Webb formed his self-titled band in 2009. His newest project, Lover's Leap, features three tunes penned by Darrell himself. Doors open at 6pm and showtime is at 7pm.
