DESCRIPTION: (12-Adult) Interested in birding? We can get you started. Learn about the park's birds and some basic identification skills. Program begins with an indoor discussion. Children age 12 to 16 must be accompanied by an adult registered in the program.

TITLE: Birding on the Boat (8-Adult)
DESCRIPTION: Enjoy a naturalist led bird program aboard a tour boat. This voyage gives you a closer look at some of the birds and animals that call the Burke Lake home. Bring binoculars and dress for the weather. Children age 12 and younger must be accompanied by a registered adult.

TITLE: Birding the Cross County Trail
DESCRIPTION: (8-Adult) Enjoy a leisurely walk along Fairfax County's Cross County Trail. This unique trail meanders along different habitats that attract many bird species. Meet at Lake Accotink, bring binoculars and wear comfortable shoes for walking.

TITLE: Father's Day Cruise (2-Adult)
DESCRIPTION: Treat Dad to a special day with the family aboard a 32-foot pontoon tour boat at Lake Accotink Park. Spot soaring eagles and sunbathing turtles while slowly cruising for 30 minutes around the lake. All pre-registered passengers receive a beverage and treat on board. Arrive 20 minutes before your cruise time to check in at the ticket building. Registrants will be notified if cruises are cancelled due to adverse boating conditions such as inclement weather or high wind.

TITLE: Fishing by the Stream
DESCRIPTION: (5-Adult) Meet at Cabell's Mill. Join a naturalist and go fishing along Rocky Run stream. Learn about native fish and receive tips on equipment and techniques. Beginners welcome. Bring your own fully rigged fishing poles; worms provided for bait. Children must be accompanied by an adult registered in the program.

TITLE: Fishing Clinic (6-Adult)
DESCRIPTION: Students learn fishing techniques that work for catching fish at Lake Fairfax. Bring your own rod and reel. A limited number of rods are available for rent for $15. A supply fee of $10 covers bait and lures that are provided. Class fee includes a daily fishing pass. Virginia freshwater fishing license required but not available for sale at the site.

DESCRIPTION: Learn fishing basics while having fun. This class helps improve fishing skills with spinning and closed faced reels while teaching safety, catch-and-release fishing, and protecting the environment. All equipment is provided. Supply fee of $20 payable at first class. Winter classes are held indoors.

DESCRIPTION: This eight-mile river journey begins in the lazy waters above the old Seneca Dam. After this lake-like stretch the pace quickens through riffles and small rapids as we weave through Seneca Breaks, glide past Watkins Island and finally turn the bend to Riverbend.
