TITLE: Paint on Any Surface (13-Adult)
DESCRIPTION: Learn which paints or varnishes are best suited to use on glass, porcelain, paper, fabric and more. Learn different painting styles such as tole, watercolor and reverse painting. Bring the surface of your choice to class. Supply fee payable to instructor at first class.

TITLE: Paint your Pet in Acrylic (13-Adult)
DESCRIPTION: Students learn the step-by-step process for creating a personalized pet portrait on canvas. No experience is needed. Students will be contacted prior to class to get pet photos which the instructor will sketch and bring to class for you to paint. All materials included.

DESCRIPTION: Introduction to intermediate instruction using pinch, slab and coil methods to create either functional or abstract pieces. Glazing and techniques for textures and other decorations are included. Class fee includes 25 lbs. of clay and three hours of lab time.

DESCRIPTION: Build on and refine skills learned in Pottery I. Create functional and nonfunctional pottery as well as three-dimensional sculptures. Supply fee payable to instructor at first class.

DESCRIPTION: In this class offered by My Last Gift Sewing Institute, you learn techniques for altering tailored garments such as hemming by hand or machine, taking in/letting out waistlines, shortening sleeves and changing buttons. Skills include measuring using a ruler and tape measure, using commercial patterns, hand and machine sewing and fabric structure. Supply fee of $15 is payable to instructor at the workshop.

TITLE: Sewing Workshop-Machine Fundamentals 9+
DESCRIPTION: In this class offered by My Last Gift Sewing Institute, learn about sewing machines including threading, bobbin-winding and placement, parts of the machine, how to make a buttonhole, basic stitches and operation. This class is not a prerequisite for all sewing classes, but is a great course for those interested in learning how to sew. Bring your machine to class or use one of ours. Supply fee of $15 is payable to instructor at the workshop.

DESCRIPTION: In this class offered by My Last Gift Sewing Institute, learn techniques to make a matching mother/child apron set from a commercial pattern. Skills include properly measuring and altering a commercial pattern, measuring using a ruler and tape measure, using commercial patterns, hand and machine sewing and fabric structure. Both adult and child need to register. Supply fee of $15 is payable to instructor at the workshop.

TITLE: Smartphone Nature Photography Workshop
DESCRIPTION: Learn techniques to improve your smartphone nature photography with the help of professional photographer Cindy Dyer. Get a better understanding of composition, color and lighting and how to use your camera settings, then practice what you learned with an in-class garden photography shoot, critique and lesson on editing.

TITLE: Studio Art (6-12 yrs)
DESCRIPTION: Artists develop their own style while exploring opportunities for self-expression and creativity through a variety of art media. Supply list available at first class.

TITLE: Sumi-e Workshop (Adults)
DESCRIPTION: A master sumi-e artist leads workshops in classical Japanese brush and ink painting. Covers basic brush strokes to create elegant, poetic themes from nature or more non-traditional subjects. Materials discussed in class (about $30) or bring your own supplies.

TITLE: T-Shirt Quilting (9-Adult)
DESCRIPTION: In this class offered by My Last Gift Sewing Institute, students learn techniques to make a T-shirt quilt. Students need to bring 16 to 20 T-shirts to construct the quilt cover, which will be backed with fleece and batting to create warmth and comfort. Sewing machines and a primer are provided. Supply fee of $35 is payable to instructor at first class and includes project supplies and sewing kit.

TITLE: Visual Arts Workshop: Seeing Beauty
DESCRIPTION: Photography instructor Tuan Pham helps you seek artistic beauty, sharpen your perception of the natural world and learn how to capture that new vision for your photography or other visual arts. Lessons teach insightful observation by masters in arts, science, and mysticism, combined with the presenter's own experience in nature photography and mindfulness practice. Use your new mindful sight to broaden what is beautiful in your world and artwork.

TITLE: Watercolor Holiday Greeting Cards 13-Adu
DESCRIPTION: (13-Adult) Learn how to mix watercolor paints, select good art brushes and supplies, balance composition, use various painting techniques and create interesting textures. Complete one greeting card per class with artist demonstrations and individual assistance. Supply fee payable to instructor at first class.
