DESCRIPTION: This course is for anyone with passion to draw and paint and who wants to develop an artwork journal. Students explore drawing from life and imagination and create a series of drawings and paintings using various techniques and mediums. Supply fee payable to instructor at first class.

TITLE: Awesome Acrylics Paint & Sip (13-Adult)
DESCRIPTION: One painting per class is demonstrated from start to finish, then students paint a 16 x 20 canvas each class as we listen to good music, laugh, and sip a fizzy, non-alcoholic beverage. No experience necessary. We can supply everything you need, or you may bring your own supplies.

TITLE: Beginning Sewing I (Adults)
DESCRIPTION: Prerequisite: Sewing Machine Primer. Learn about fabrics, patterns, grain, cutting out fabric from patterns, marking, sewing and pressing while making a basic garment. Supply list provided at the first class or supply fee of $7 payable to instructor at first class. Bring your machine to class. Pimmit Hills classes are three hours for first session and 4.5 hours next two sessions.

TITLE: Botanical Drawing Workshop-Buds & Bulbs
DESCRIPTION: This class is an advanced beginner or intermediate level for students with drawing experience. Learn to accurately illustrate the botanical details of buds and bulbs using pencil, colored pencil, watercolor or pen and ink. Artist Caroline Hottenstein guides you in seeing and rendering details as well as using basic watercolor techniques for botanical illustration. A supply list will be emailed before class.

TITLE: Calligraphy-Carolingian (Adults)
DESCRIPTION: Prerequisite: Prior Calligraphy class or equivalent experience. This beautiful hand was developed in 9th century France and is a must for any calligrapher's repertoire.

DESCRIPTION: Introduction to the pointed pen and the formal script hand, beginning with the traditional form and progressing to more modern variations. Any supply fee payable to instructor at first class.

TITLE: Cartooning (6-12 yrs)
DESCRIPTION: Sharpen your drawing skills, learn how to develop characters and illustrate background to create cartoons. Students must bring a sketch pad and black soft lead pencils (4B and 2H). Supply fee payable to instructor at first class or supply list distributed at the first class.

DESCRIPTION: Three-dimensional object study in charcoal and pastels. Apply charcoal and pastel techniques to landscape projects and collage abstracts that are worked on during class. Supply fee payable to instructor at first class.

DESCRIPTION: Students receive individual attention based on skill level and projects. Class covers basic stitches and pattern reading. Bring one crochet hook in size G (6), H (8), I (9) or J (10) crochet hook and a skein of light colored four-ply worsted weight yarn. Any supply fee payable to instructor at class.

DESCRIPTION: Prerequisite: Ability to crochet basic stitches and read patterns. Learn combination stitches, textured stitches and crochet using multiple strands. Bring a variety of crochet hooks, scissors and tape measure. Supply fee payable to instructor at class.

TITLE: Digital Photography (13-Adult)
DESCRIPTION: There's more to photography than just using the automatic setting. Topics include your camera's controls, resolution, flash, composition, stop motion, close ups and more. Course includes weekly assignments with reviews. Software and printing are also covered. Any supply fee payable to instructor at first class.

DESCRIPTION: Prerequisite: Digital Photography I or equivalent.

DESCRIPTION: This course provides a basic introduction acrylic painting fundamentals. Students use basic painting skills and techniques to create simple works of art. Practical exercises include simple sketching, use of color theory and application and basic composition. Students should bring a small or medium flat canvas and acrylic paints of their choice.
