Adapted Fitness Training (13-22 yrs)
(13-22 yrs) Designed for teens with developmental disabilities who can participate in a 4:1 ratio. Learn fitness and wellness skills in a fun and social environment. Class may include weight room exercises, team games, yoga, swimming, outdoor activities and nutrition instruction.
Adapted Pilates (Adults)
This class modifies Pilates fundamentals, exercises and sequencing for a slower-paced practice. Transitions and progression are designed to maximize Pilates exercise benefits with accommodations for people with disabilities or other health considerations that prevent participation in a standard class.
Adapted Yoga (10-22 yrs)
This class for individuals with developmental disabilities focuses on basic yoga positions to improve strength, balance and flexibility and introduces breathing techniques for physical and mental relaxation. Please bring a mat. Parent/caregiver participation may be required.
Circuit Training for Parkinson's (Adults
This class uses the PWR!Moves curriculum of standing circuit exercises to benefit individuals with Parkinson's or other movement disorders. Identified exercises are led by a certified instructor in a fun and functional environment to help participants improve their performance in everyday activities and exercise. A special focus will be added to help participants recognize when they need to self-correct for better posture and balance. Students must be able to get down on the floor and stand up.
Parkinson's Chair Exercise (Adults)
This gentle chair class incorporates exercises and stretches using the PWR!Move curriculum for those with Parkinson's Disease or other movement disorders. A certified instructor leads exercises in a fun setting and helps participants maintain and gain better movement, posture and balance. All exercise are done seated in a chair.
Yoga in ASL (Adults)
This class is taught in American Sign Language and is tailored to meet the needs of students with hearing loss. Class focus is on posture alignment, increasing core strength, muscular-skeletal flexibility and breathing techniques. Instruction includes yoga props, chair and floor yoga options. Please bring a mat and towel to class.
