Groundhog's Day Out
Come to Frying Pan Farm Park and find out if groundhogs can really predict the weather. Visit a groundhog burrow, learn cool groundhog facts, enjoy games and make your own groundhog friend to take home. Dress for the weather, hot chocolate provided. Children must be accompanied by an adult. All participants must register.

Bluegrass-Special Consensus
02/01/15 Formed in the Chicago area in 1975, The Special Consensus is a four-person acoustic bluegrass band with a repertoire that features traditional bluegrass standards, original compositions, and songs from other musical genres performed in the bluegrass format. The band has released 16 recordings and has appeared on numerous National Public Radio programs and cable television shows. Banjoist Greg Cahill, leads a group of talented musicians comprising one of the most engaging bands in Bluegrass today. Doors open at 6pm, concert starts at 7pm. The series at the park's Visitor Center is sponsored by the Friends of Frying Pan Park and Vienna hardwoods in cooperation with the Fairfax County Park Authority. Food and drinks available for purchase. Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door.

Bluegrass-Patent Pending
03/01/15 For over thirty years, Patent Pending has been performing and recording bluegrass music. The bands tight harmonies and energetic picking were honed through the early years in the Washington, DC music scene, where they held weekly gigs at some of the areas top bluegrass venues. During the 1980s, Patent Pending r ecorded four albums and played extensively. By 1984 the band had b ought a bus and played festivals and shows in twenty-two states. D oors open at 6pm, concert starts at 7pm. Dog Agility for the Fun of It (13-Adult)
Prerequisite: Dog Obedience I. Class offers an introduction to the fun sport of dog agility. This class is not competition oriented. Dogs must be at least 1 year old. Dogs and handlers learn teamwork, targeting and handling skills basics. Class utilizes agility equipment. Attendance at first class is required. Bring dogs to first class.

Dog Agility for the Fun of It II (13+)
Prerequisite: Agility for the Fun of it I or Dog Agility I. More fun with agility sequences and obstacle performance. Dogs must know obedience behaviors sit, lie down, stay and come and be reliable off leash. Confidence in performing contact obstacles (A-frame and dog walk) is required. Bring dogs to first class.
