The Comforts of Campfire
(4-Adult) Delve into the history of the Civil War era by coming to a 1860s themed campfire. Program features songs, folklore and stories, and some outdoor games. Learn about the importance of campfires to the Civil War soldier and enjoy some hot drinks and treats. Children must be accompanied by an adult registered in the program.

The Frying Pan Sizzle
(4-Adult) Bring the whole family to an evening campfire on the farm. Sit on the porch of the historic Kidwell Farmhouse and sample grilled oysters at a traditional Frying Pan get together. Immerse yourself in the fun side of family farm life of Northern Virginia in the 1930s. Program features games. Children must be accompanied by an adult registered in the program.

Dig in for Victory!
(5-Adult) Celebrate patriotism by discovering how civilians during WWII planted Victory Gardens to support our troops. Local food meant that more resources were available to supply the war effort. Learn about the life cycle of plants and where seeds come from, nutrient cycles and how you can plant your own garden. Program is outside and involves minimal walking. Children must be accompanied by an adult registered in the program. Please dress for the weather.

Forging the Future: 1940s Blacksmithing
(5-Adult) A blacksmith's day is hard, until the work suddenly disappears. The smiths of the 1940s had to adapt to changing times in their industry to stay in business. Learn about the work on a changing farm as you play games designed to test your blacksmith skills. Meet at the Frying Pan Blacksmith Shop. Children must be accompanied by an adult registered in the program.

Farm Tech: Gardening Using Hydroponics 
(5-Adult) In this program, we discuss the method of growing plants without soil. Soilless gardening can offer many benefits including being able to grow fresh vegetables in small spaces, eliminating the need to pull weeds, and a reduction in plant pests and disease. Learn different techniques to grow at home, year round. Children must be accompanied by an adult registered in the program.

Learn about farm and our animals. Campers are split into smaller group for activities including farm visits, nature walks, crafts, songs and games. Camp meets at the Old Floris Schoolhouse. Bats in the Cropfields Night Hike
(5-Adult) As you get ready for bed, bats are getting ready to work. Come discover how these accommodating animals help out on our farm, then try navigating the farm in an echolocation activity.
