(6-9 yrs.) Students explore marsh, meadow, and forest to learn about change patterns, plant characteristics, animal life needs and observation. Basic reading and writing skills required. Students must be comfortable working in a group.

Location:  Huntley Meadows Park
Start Time/Day:  4:15pm Wed
(13-17 yrs.) This course involves lecture with an emphasis on hands on field work studying natural sciences. Learn about aquatic ecosystems, energy and matter in the ecosystems, how humans impact the natural world, the many different interactions of living things from microbes to large mammals. Students participate in field work related to soil studies, biodiversity studies, plant and animal studies, and wetlands studies.

Start Time/Day:  1pm Wed
(9-12 yrs.) Students investigate the interrelation between earth cycles, ecosystems and plants and animal functions and processes at the cell level. Examine human impact on ecosystem health. Basic reading and writing skills required. Students must be comfortable working in a group.

Homeschool Wilderness Skills (7-12 yrs) Click to Register with Parktakes Online
Location:  Huntley Meadows Park
Start Time/Day:  2pm Fri
(7-12 yrs.) Make fires, build shelters and learn about wild and medicinal plants as we explore how to survive in the wilderness. Hikes, games and art projects add to our adventures. Any supply fee payable to instructor at class.
