03/12/17 Steve Gulley's impressive resume includes residence at Kentuckys historic Renfro Valley and playing with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, which first brought him to a national audience. Steve was a founding member of Mountain Heart and Grasstown. He is one of the best lead and tenor singers in bluegrass, an accomplished guitarist, and a gifted and frequently published and recorded songwriter. Doors open at 6 p.m. and show time is 7 p.m. The series at the park's Visitor Center is sponsored by the Friends of Frying Pan Park, Vienna Hardwoods and Eastman Guitars and Mandolins in cooperation with the Fairfax County Park Authority. Food and drinks, including beer and wine, are available for purchase. Tickets are $18 in advance, $20 at the door.

04/09/17 When The Boxcars open their instrument cases and take to the stage, a joyful exposition of music performance ensues. The two-time IBMA Bluegrass Instrumental Band of the Year has achieved a level of musicianship that sets a high standard. Merging the power of traditional bluegrass with an updated and engaging style, their CD, Familiar With the Ground, captures these super-pickers': Keith Garrett, Adam Steffey, Ron Stewart, Harold Nixon, and Gary Hultman.
