Take Back the Forest This Spring
Help Take Back the Forest! Been thinking about volunteering for something? Got some service hours due? Take Back the Forest is a Fairfax County Park Authority program designed to limit the damages of invasive plants. The agency is looking to line up 500 volunteers to help get rid of invasives at 40 sites throughout the county, so there's likely a park close to you. Invasive plants can destroy native plants and trees, and that affects the wildlife that depends on those native plants. Get a free t-shirt and free deck of cards just for helping out the parks and wildlife for a couple of hours anytime from April 15-May 15. Read more about Take Back the Forest.
